Hamhock didn't begin as the star of the story.
He was Jane's favorite little plush companion, quietly appearing throughout the Learning My Letters books as part of the Hamhock Hunt. He found his way as a charming spotlight for a dedication page to the peeking pig in the "Hamhock Approved" stamp.
Then something unexpected happened.
As more illustrations were created, Hamhock kept finding himself in familiar everyday situations—not doing anything at all, simply ending up there.
Wrapped in a blanket.
Lost in the weeds.
Wearing a crown.
Celebrating birthdays.
Somewhere along the way, I realized Hamhock had more stories to tell—without ever saying a word.
